According to the Kentucky Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologists, a candidate who has unsuccessfully attempted the state examination three times will be required to attend an eighty hour brush up course at a licensed cosmetology school. Paul Mitchell The School Louisville will allow graduates of the program to attend the eighty hour brush up course according to the theory and state board schedule of the school. Graduates will be required to meet with the Admissions Team of the school prior to beginning the brush up course. Graduates will be expected to follow the professional guidelines of the school when attending the brush up course. The graduate will be required to pay the $25 student permit fee. Graduates will be expected to track their time clocking in and out using the school's biometric time keeping system. This time record will be used to track the progress through the brush up course. Upon completion of the eighty hours, the school will notify the state that the graduate has completed the course. The graduate will follow the direction of the Kentucky Board of Hairdressers and Cosmetologist to apply for examination.
